Both Houses of Parliament Will Resume on Tuesday 27th January

The National Assembly and the Senate will return from their Christmas and New Year recess on Tuesday 27th January.  The National Assembly sat last on 18th December, the Senate on 19th December, when they approved the 2015 Budget and passed the Finance (No. 3) Bill and Appropriation (2015) Bill.

1.1 The Portfolio Committee on Education, Sport, Arts and Culture resolved to conduct an enquiry into the state of Sport in Zimbabwe. The enquiry was motivated by the Committee's
commitment to see the grovvLh of sport and also its development particularly for the ordinary Zimbabwean. The committee held oral evidence sessions with the Sport and Recreation
Commission (SRC), Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture, Zimbabwe Rugby, Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZC) and Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Challenge to Child Marriage will be heard in the Constitutional Court

on Wednesday 14th January

The first Constitutional Court sitting of 2015 will be on Wednesday 14th January.  The third case on the court roll is a constitutional challenge to child marriage taken by Mr Tendai Biti on behalf of the applicants:

Finance (No. 3) 2014

To make further provision for the revenues and public funds of Zimbabwe and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. ENACTED by the Parliament and the President of Zimbabwe. This Act may be cited as the Finance (No. 3) Act, 2014.
