Hon. Gonese raised a point of order alleging that the meeting of the Parliamentary Legal Committee which decided on the Non Adverse Report on the Local Government Laws Amendment Bill (H. B. 1A, 2016) was unprocedural and the Speaker ruled as follows:

The Criminal Procedure and Evidence Amendment Act was gazetted on Friday 10th June as Act No. 2 of 2016.

Criminal Procedure and Evidence Amendment Act, 2016

To amend the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act [Chapter 9:07]; to amend the National Prosecuting Authority Act [Chapter 7:20] (No. 5 of 2014); and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. ENACTED by the Parliament and the President of Zimbabwe.

Short title and date of commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Amendment Act, 2016.
