SI 2018-205 New Rate for Intermediated Money Transfer Tax in effect Saturday 13 October

Finance (Rate and Incidence of Intermediated Money Transfer Tax) Regulations, 2018

These regulations, made by the Minister of Finance in terms of section 3 of the Finance Act [Chapter 23:04]. were promulgated (published in the Government Gazette) on Friday 12th October.  Sections 2 and 3 of the regulations amend section 22G of the Finance Act and the Thirtieth Schedule to the Income Tax, respectively.

Conditions of Detention for People Sentenced to Death

Today, the 10th October, is the World Day Against the Death Penalty.

The World Day Against the Death Penalty is commemorated annually on this day to highlight the plight of those who have been denied the most essential human right of all, the right to life, by the justice system.

This Year’s Theme

SI 2018-200 Collective Bargaining Agreement: Welfare and Educational Institutions

This agreement was signed on behalf of employers and employees on 27th January 2017 but its date of commencement is 5th October 2018, the date of gazetting. 

It deals with the renewability of fixed-term contracts of employment, when renewed contracts must be deemed to be contracts without limit of time, and when a break in employment followed by re-engagement is deemed not to have broken continuous employment. 

SI 2018-199 – Extradition Agreement between USA and Zimbabwe

Summary:

By this statutory instrument, gazetted on 5th October 2018, the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage published the Extradition Agreement between the United States of America and Zimbabwe concluded on the 25th July 1997 [sic]

The publication is in terms of section 3(3) of the Extradition Act, which gives the agreement the force of law in Zimbabwe with effect from 5th October 2018.

Services Commission, has made the following regulations:

1.These regulations may be cited as the Defence (Regular Force)
(Specialist Members) (Amendment) Regulations, 2018 (No. 2).
