GN 2019/1519 - Amendment of a Special Economic Zone

IT is hereby notified, in terms of section 20(2) of the Special Economic Zones Act [Chapter 14:34], that the Zimbabwe Special Economic Zones Authority has amended and extended the Belmont, Donnington and Kelvin Special Economic Zone to include Westondale industrial area. The area covered by the extended Westondale zone is located within the coordinates set out in the Schedule

SI 2019-177 Collective Bargaining Agreement: Agricultural Industry

IT is hereby notified, that the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare has, in terms of section 80(1) of the Labour Act [Chapter 28:01], approved the publication of the Collective Bargaining Agreement set out in the Schedule which further amends the agreement published in Statutory Instrument 116 of 2014, registered in terms of section 79 of the Labour Act

SADC Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 17th - 18th August

The 39th Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) was held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania last weekend.  All sixteen SADC member States were represented. 

Maintenance of Peace and Order Bill - Text of Amendments made by National Assembly on 8th August

The Maintenance of Peace and Order Bill was passed by the National Assembly on 8th August 2019 with the amendments recorded in the document downloadable below.  The Bill was then transmitted to the Senate for consideration.  An annotated version of the Bill is also available on this website indicating the effect of the amendments made.

On 8th August 2019 the National Assembly passed the Maintenance of Peace and Order Bill with amendments to clauses 4, 5, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 21 and the Schedule plus the insertion of a Preamble and a new clause 24 repealing the Public Order and Security Act.
