Prisons (Staff) (Appointment and Discharge) (Amendment) Regulations, 2015 (No. 13)

IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs has, in tem1s of section 130 of Prisons Act [Chapter 7: 11], made the following regulations:-
1. These regulations may be cited as the Prisons (Staff) (Appointment and Discharge) (Amendment) Regulations, 2015 (No. 13).
2. Section 20 of the Prisons (Staff) (Appointment and Discharge) Regulations, 1968, published in Rhodesia Government Notice No. 406 of 1968 (hereby refened to as the p1incipal regulations), is amended
by the inse1tion after subsection ( 4) of the following-
"(5) Subject to the provisions of section 10(2) of the Act a member who is a war veteran as defined in the War Veterans Act [Chapter 11: 15], who is medically fit and whom the President considers that it is desirable in the public interest that he or she remains in the Zimbabwe Prisons and Conectional Service, shall continue to serve for fmther periods, not exceeding twelve months at a time, until he or she attains the age of sixty-five years.".
3. The Principal regulations are amended by the insertion, after section 20 of the following-
"Promotion to next higher rank on retirement 20A. A member of the rank of Superintendent and above who retire on full pension shall be promoted to the next higher rank on reaching retirement age and leaving the service for pension purposes: Provided that the member exhibited undoubted loyalty and exceptional commitment to his or her duty.".
