Public Hearings on [1] Public Debt Management Bill
[2] Joint Ventures Bill
Monday 15th June to Saturday 4th May
The Portfolio Committee on Finance and Economic Development will be holding public hearings round the country, starting on Monday 15th June and ending on Saturday 20th June, to gather the views of the public and stakeholders on:
- The Public Debt Management Bill; and
- The Joint Ventures Bill.
[Soft copies of both bills are available from Veritas at the addresses given at the end of this bulletin.]
The committee will divide into two teams for the hearings:
- Team 1 will cover Mashonaland West, Harare, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East and Manicaland.
- Team 2 will cover Midlands, Masvingo, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo and Matabeleland North

Attendance at the Public Hearings
The public, stakeholders, interested groups and organisations are invited by Parliament to attend the hearings, at which they will be given the opportunity to express their views on the Bills. Contributions made will be considered by the committee and will be part of the committee’s report to be tabled in the National Assembly when the Bills are being debated.
If you want to make oral representations at a hearing, signify this to the committee clerk before the hearing, if possible, so that he can notify the chairperson to call on you. An oral representation may be more effective if followed up in writing. If you are providing a written copy, it is advisable to take as many copies as possible with you for circulation at the hearing.
