Committee Meetings Open to Public Attendance

Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd March

There will be committee meetings open to public attendance on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd March.  These meetings are listed below.  Open meetings scheduled for Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th March will be notified in a separate bulletin to be issued later.

Oral evidence from ZESA Holdings executives on the ZESA Forensic Audit Report.  The agenda is the same as last week, when the ZESA delegation came insufficiently prepared and were told to come back this week fully prepared.

Oral evidence from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development on the status of the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill.

Oral evidence from the  Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe [RBZ] on the on the recently announced Monetary Policy Statement and the foreign currency auction system.  The Monetary Policy Statement of February 2021 is available here [link].

Portfolio Committee: Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare

Zoom meeting

Oral evidence from the  Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare on the petition received from Emthonjeni Women’s Forum on the need to review the Labour Act.

Portfolio Committee: Transport and Infrastructural Development

Hybrid meeting – both Zoom and physical

Oral evidence from (1) the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Infrastructural Development and (2) the Commissioner-General of Police on measures being taken to reduce road carnage on Zimbabwe’s highways.

Portfolio Committee: Foreign Affairs and International Trade

  1. ZIMTRADE on the National Export Strategy post-COVID-19 and Trade Protocols to be utilised during the COVID-19 era
  2. Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency [ZIDA] on its mandate, mission and vision.

Portfolio Committee: Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, Climate and Rural Resettlement

Hybrid meeting – both Zoom and physical

Oral evidence from (1) the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, Climate and Rural Resettlement and (2) CBZ Agro-Yield management on the contract into between Government and CBZ Bank to supply farmers with inputs and loans under the Command Agriculture Scheme.
