Committee Meetings Open to Public Attendance

on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th May 2021

This bulletin notifies the only committee meetings open to public attendance this week at Parliament.  

Members of the public interested in virtual attendance at open meetings as observers are welcome to access the meetings via Parliament’s social media pages – https://www.facebook.com/parliamentofzim/ and https://twitter.com/parliamentzim.  

At physical and hybrid open meetings COVID-19 protocols will be strictly applied for those attending physically – masks, social distancing, numbers present, etc.  For those members of the public wishing to attend physically, we suggest phoning Parliament’s Public Relations Department to check whether attendance will be feasible.  Telephone numbers are 024 2700181-6.

Portfolio Committee: Information Communication Technology, Postal & Courier Services

Oral evidence from the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal & Courier Services concerning the status of telecommunication companies in terms of access to foreign currency for the acquisition of telecommunication infrastructure across Zimbabwe.

Thematic Committee: Gender and Development

Oral evidence from the Zimbabwe Indigenous Women Farmers’ Trust on the level of women’s participation in Pfumvudza and Command Agriculture during the 2020/2021 agricultural season,

Tuesday 18th May at 10.00 am

Portfolio Committee: Information, Media and Broadcasting Services

Oral evidence from the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services on the state of the operating environment of media practitioners.

  • What is scheduled to be discussed in closed meetings;
