Open Committee Meetings : Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd March

The Committee meetings listed below for Monday 20th March [afternoon only], Tuesday 21st March [morning only] and Thursday 23rd March [morning only] will be open to attendance by members of the public as observers only.  Members of the public proposing to attend a meeting should use the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue entrance to Parliament near Third Street and remember that IDs will be required to gain entry. 

Note 1.  Both Senate Thematic Committee meetings and National Assembly Portfolio Committee meetings are listed.  [Both Houses will resume sittings this coming week.]

Note 2.  One virtual meeting and three hybrid (physical and virtual) meetings are listed.  There is an explanation later in this bulletin of how to attend a meeting virtually.

Monday 6th March at 2 pm

Portfolio Committee: Budget, Finance and Economic Development

Oral evidence from the Minister of Finance and Economic Development on Debt Resolution Plans.

Venue: Senate Chamber.

Portfolio Committee: Transport and Infrastructural Development

Oral evidence from the  Zimborders Construction Company on the costing of renovating the Beitbridge Border Post.

Portfolio Committee: Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare

Oral evidence from Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) on the Closure of Health Service Facilities.

Thematic Committee: HIV and AIDS

Oral evidence from the  National AIDS Council (NAC) on the Door-to-Door ARV Delivery Programme.

Tuesday 21st March at 10 am

Portfolio Committee: Foreign Affairs and International Trade

Oral evidence from the  Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade on the progress made by the Ministry in implementing strategies espoused in the NDS1 earmarked at improving international relations.

Thematic Committee: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Oral evidence from the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare on progress made in the implementation of SDGs – and the challenges thereof.

Portfolio Committee: Primary and Secondary Education

Oral evidence from Permanent Secretary for Primary and Secondary Education on the Utilisation of the US$ 10 million allocated to it under the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) received by Zimbabwe from the International Monetary Fund [IMF].

Oral evidence from ZESA on its plans to partner with Absolicon and ABB Partners for a robotised solar thermal collector production line.

Oral evidence from the Sports and Recreation Commission to follow up on implementation of recommendations proposed in the report that was tabled by the Committee on the state of football developments in Zimbabwe.
