Open Meetings This Week
There are three open Portfolio Committee meetings scheduled for this week, all for Monday 25th November. On the same day the Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development will be inspecting Robert Mugabe Airport and Charles Prince Airport.
“Open” means that the meetings will be open to attendance by members of the public, but as observers only. Members of the public wishing to attend the meeting in the New Parliament Building will need to produce their IDs to gain entry to the Building.

Public Accounts Committee
Oral evidence from the Bulawayo City Council on their financial statements reflected in the Auditor-General’s report on local authorities for 2023 [link].

Public Accounts Sub-Committee on State-owned Enterprises and Parastatals
Oral evidence from the Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) on their financial statements reflected in the Auditor-General’s report on State-owned enterprises and parastatals for 2023 [link].
Venue: Committee Room 8, Second Floor, New Parliament Building.

Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs, Security Services and War Veterans Affairs
Oral evidence from the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association on their petition regarding a review of the Vagrancy Act.
Venue: Committee Room 2, First Floor, New Parliament Building.
Familiarisation Tour of Airports of Zimbabwe Facilities
On Monday 25th November, starting at 9:30 am, the Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development will be undertaking a familiarisation tour of Robert Mugabe Airport and Charles Prince Airport.
According to Parliament’s schedule of meetings this tour will be an “open session”, i.e. open to the public. It is doubtful however if the public will be allowed to accompany committee members into areas within the airports that are normally closed to the public.
