INTRODUCTION

Following the El Niño-induced drought, which devastated Southern Africa countries in early 2024, the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development resolved to conduct an inquiry into the food security situation in Zimbabwe. The inquiry aimed at providing a thorough assessment of Zimbabwe's food security challenges and contribute in guide the development of a comprehensive, multi-faceted strategy to overcome the challenges.
