REPORT ON CRIMINAL LAWS AMENDMENT BILL

Section 141 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe gives Parliament an obligation to engage the general members of the public during its law making procedures and ensure that all interested parties are consulted on Bills being considered by Parliament to be enacted into law. In fulfillment of this constitutional obligation, Parliament, through the Portfolio Committee on Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs together with the Thematic Committee of Human Rights held public consultations on the Criminal Laws Amendments Bill, to gather views of the people from the 6th to the 11th of May 2024.

Portfolio Committees' Report on Benchmarking Visit to Sweden

This report was presented in both the National Assembly and the Senate this morning, Friday 13th January 2023.  The presentation took the form of reading out the full report.  Immediately after the presentation both Houses adjourned to Tuesday afternoon 17th January 2023 to debate the Ad Hoc Committee’s report and    on the 17th and 18th January.
