Control of Goods Act [Chapter 14-05], showing 2007 Amendments

This Act may be cited as the Control of Goods Act [Chapter 14:05]. AN ACT to enable the President to provide by regulation for the control of the distribution, disposal, purchase and sale, and the wholesale and retail prices, of any manufactured or unmanufactured commodity or of any animal or poultry specified by the President by order or of any class of any such commodity, animal or poultry, for the control of imports into and exports from Zimbabwe; and for other purposes incidental and supplementary to the foregoing.

Disabled Persons Act [Chapter 17:01]

This Act may be cited as the Disabled Persons Act [Chapter 17:01]. AN ACT to make provision for the welfare and rehabilitation of disabled persons; to provide for the appointment and functions of a Director for Disabled Persons’ Affairs and the establishment and functions of a National Disability Board; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

 

NOTE ON AMENDMENTS

Competition Act [Chapter 14-28]

This Act may be cited as the Competition Act, 1996. AN ACT to promote and maintain competition in the economy of Zimbabwe; to establish a Competition and Tariff Commission and to provide for its functions; to provide for the prevention and control of restrictive practices, the regulation of mergers, the prevention and control of monopoly situations and the prohibition of unfair trade practices; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

Emergency Powers Act [Chapter 11:04] Annotated 2007

AN ACT to make exceptional provision for the protection of the community in cases where a declaration in terms of subsection (1), or a resolution in terms of subsection (6), of section 31J of the Constitution is in force; and to provide for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith. Date of commencement: 2nd December, 1960. This Act may be cited as the Emergency Powers Act [Chapter 11:04].

 

 

Census and Statistics Act [Chapter 10-29]

This Act may be cited as the Census and Statistics Act [Chapter 10:29]. Act No. 1 of 2007. Published in the Government Gazette on Friday 20th July, 2007. Commencement:  [to be fixed by statutory instrument in terms of section 1(2) of the Act]. To provide for the establishment of the National Statistics Agency which will replace the Central Statistical Office; to provide for the collection and processing of statistics; to repeal the Census and Statistics Act [Chapter 10:05]; and to provide for matters incidental to or connected with the foregoing.

Administrative Justice Act [Chapter 10:28]

To provide for the right to administrative action and decisions that are lawful, reasonable and procedurally fair; to provide for the entitlement to written reasons for administrative action or decisions; to provide for relief by a competent court against administrative action or decisions contrary to the provisions of this Act; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

Arbitration Act [Chapter 7:15]

AN ACT to give effect to domestic and international arbitration agreements; to apply, with modifications, the Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law on the 21st June, 1985, thereby giving effect to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards adopted in New York on the 10th June, 1958; to repeal the Arbitration Act [Chapter 7:02]; to amend the High Court Act [Chapter 7:06], and section 6 of the Prescribed Rate of Interest Act [Chapter 8:10]; and to provide for matters incidental to or connected with the foregoing.
