This Statement of Zimbabwe’s Public Debt Position as at end September 2022, is prepared in line with the following: • The Constitution of Zimbabwe Section 300 (4) (b)- “The Minister responsible for Finance must at the same time as the estimates of revenue and expenditures are laid before the National Assembly, table in Parliament a comprehensive statement of the public debt of Zimbabwe”; and
WHAT IS A CITIZENS’ BUDGET? It is a simplified summary of the National Budget that explains how the Government plans to raise money to pay for its activities and how it plans to allocate these resources to achieve the national development goals. WHY DO WE PUBLISH A CITIZENS’ BUDGET?
1. The year 2023 marks the mid-point in the implementation of the transformative and inclusive development agenda under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), allowing the Nation to assess progress made to date and recognise successes, identify challenges and plug any gaps encountered.
